Conducted for several years by the National Museum in Poznan research contained in his collection of images by Rembrandt van Rijn in the context of their authenticity, and finally the emergence of print come by the presentation.
5 April 2009 at the Gallery of Painting and Sculpture, National Museum in Poznan will be opened the exhibition "Rembrandt Graphics. Original. Copy. Late prints.
In the spaces an old building, at Al. Marcinkowski 9 will be presented about 120 works. Prints and post-mortem use of XVII, XVIII and even the beginning of the nineteenth will be confronted with a dozen copies of that in the local collections and supplemented by a selection of some thirty works best in the Polish public collections, among them "Three Crosses" from the National Museum in Warsaw or "Sleep Holy Virgin Mary " from the cabinet of engravings at the Warsaw University Library.
Statement of prints made from the same plate at different period and a comparison of them with multiple copies will allow the viewer to discover the secrets of inward knowledge it would seem. This new and fascinating world requires not only careful viewing, but also knowledge of the creator, his life and artistic workshops, which are suitable for exposure to the proportions will be presented, while the more widely discussed in the exhibition catalog.
The exhibition is accompanied by graphic workshops and lecture series.
